Here is the four track area that I want to work on this weekend. I want to get some scenery down and get to ballasting next week. Bits of stryofoam in place to make some low hills. I need a retaining wall. Not sure how to do it; I decided to use this cardboard to form the barrier. I will add wood/concrete wall part later. Here is the cardboard wall in place. Here is the paper mache/paint secret sauce mix I use to form the hills and surfaces. Hills covered with Woodland Scenics foam. The rest of the weekend is more of the same. Should put some bushes there, too. [ June 12, 2005, 08:38 AM: Message edited by: sapacif ]
Looking good Flash . You've now made me home sick. I can't wait to be able to get home & do a whole bunch of modelling.
Flash, I didn't realise you still had large sections of the layout to be scenicked. look forward to seeing more progress shots.
Looks like a good spot for some "pine trees"! Great to see more of your layout Flash,I too look forward to this.
Yes...this whole penisula and half of another one. Blue grass abounds!! The other two sections each have 20-30 custom structures to be built. It will be a while before finishing...if ever. [ June 11, 2005, 10:01 PM: Message edited by: sapacif ]
Also was the first thing crossing my mind, after noting that subject line. Anyhow, looks like nice, smooth track work. Let's see more of what you've been doing! Boxcab E50
Before and after photos. Not a bad weekend for getting started on this. I have some "pavement" down and all of the foam scenery type things. Still have to ballast, add dirt roads and other details (including a diesel oil receiving and refueling facility). But, a good time was had by all! Before: After: At least 24-36 hours remaining for the "dirt" to dry, depending on humidity.
Lookin' good Flash! You're going to be able to run some LOOOONNNG trains through that stretch. Hey - the airplane pics in the background - I think I see an F-100 and a T-38. . . where you in the Air Force?
Very Cool! I was in the Navy for 8 yrs regular - navigator in S-3 Vikings. Did many gas-n-go's in San Antonio on cross countries between San Diego and Florida. . .
Boy, Flash, Your secret formula looks like something my cat throws up. Great work! Let's see more. Have you selected your final flight yet?
Fuel hydrants and first customer: Hydrants First customer Pete: Last flight to is to Sydney and is June 24. Maybe some Sydney N scale if anyone is around then.
Say the word Flash,& it will happen! It will be good timing actually because the Sydney N scale mrrc has less than 24 months to find a new location, the one we have found so far is half the size of current shed so one of the layouts will have to ditched! Very saddened about this out come!
whats the story I thought you were going to get another shed to expand? Has Sydney water given you an eviction notice?
