A horrible shot, right into the sun, but I caught the Local heading up the Valley sub to Lincoln on my way to work this morning.
At least you caught it. Was on the road yesterday and here goes a manifest with a CP SD 40-2. I'm excited! Look around and realize I comitted a mortal sin, broke the Commandment about "Thou shalt always take thy camera."
Well, I had my camera but failed to roll down the window so there is some reflection. This was on Wednesday. A work train where they are double tracking the Sunset Route on the south west side of Houston.
Kind of interesting to see units like that, where little bits have been replaced without concern for matching paint.
Hey, at least the doors are right side up and spell out Southern Pacific. Something SP didn't always manage. BNSF always like to put orange AC units on Warbonnet dash9s and vice versa. A regular occurance with them. Whatever unit is working.
Old passenger car on the west end of Huntington,WV. They have been removing the track in this yard. Don't know if they are leaving it. It looks like a C&O. Curtis
That coach is B&O 3580, to 3004. Ran on the Chessie Steam Specials as 10 and 11. (Info courtesy Jerry LaBoda)
Some railfanning last week in Dorval depot, close to Montreal, Canada. The CSX train, bound for the US and rather short (~60 cars), is powered by a single AC4400. Meanwhile a CP freight is holding besides awaiting a crew change. The CSX freight takes off after track beeing released by a few commuters... An opposite CN train holds waiting CSX leaves prior to get highball. The forementionned CN freight proceeds towards CN yard. It's powered with a single ES44AC at the point, with a single DPU embedded downstream in the consist. A double headed CN freight with a SD70M2 at the point. Dom
The same train heading westwards. On next morning, a CN freight is heading westwards from CN yard. 3 units at the point: a Dash9, then an ES44, then what I identified as a GP40-2W. Dom
And a final train before flying back to Europe: a freight with a single ES44 at the point and a DPU further on up the consist. Here we are, folks... Hopefully more shots when I come back in north America, I hope the same location in next september or october... Dom
Thank you guys. Furthermore this spot is very easy to get to, as it's nothing less than the platform of the railroad station that serves Montreal's PE Trudeau YUL airport.. Dom
