Ok, started a few hours early since I'm one Left coast time. Last weekend, in honor of Father's Day, the California State Railroad Museum had a Special Dad's and Diesels program. They pulled a couple units out of the Locomotive works that aren't often on display. One of the units was a very early Boxcab diesel, but what I went for was to see their SP SD45T-2. I'd like to believe that they left her faded and Rusty on purpose. Unfortunately, the auto focus on my main lens is dying and I often forgot to Adjust it, so I didn't get many good shots. But I did get this one from above.
Insert Train Here! Waldfischbach-Burgalben's golf driving range overlooks a cool s-curve on the commuter line from Kaiserslautern-Pirmasens, Germany--sharp eyes viewers will note the semaphore still in place: A local hiking trail was once a rail line; here's a depot turned residence:
Since I am in Temple at the Santa Fe convention this week, here is an old one from 1983 that was taken at the Santa Fe depot there. The baggage cars were on the back end of the Texas Eagle that morning.

Tacoma, Washington, back during 1983, several of the ex-Rock Island U28B units have reached the end of their years. (Some day I will own a better quality slide scanner!) This location is very often misidentified, even by locals, as Joseph Simon & Sons scrap yard. It was not. The old WFA elevator easily locates this as Big 'D' Salvage, far across the Puyallup River, east side of the port industrial area quite far away from Simon:

I'm surprised there is still an active diamond at Grinnell. After 1960, C&NW chopped up the Louie so fast, that any of it survives is amazing.
