Sorry guys, been a busy day, just sitting down and noticing it's after midnight here. Oy. So no picture, hopefully you've all just been waiting with baited breath.
I still have to find a store that stocks breath bait... Here's some railfan bait, though: IMGP5783A_CN5601_SD70I_20100403 by Mike VE2TRV posted Feb 24, 2017 at 7:20 PM CN 5601, a Whisper-Cab equipped SD70I with some road grime leading a much grimier SD60F no. 5516 and a 90-car train at Ste-Ursule on April 3rd, 2010, on its way toward Hervey Junction north of Trois-Rivieres, QC. CN was the only customer for the SD70I, as well as for the full-cowl SD60F. Those two 710 engines made a nice deep throbbing sound that drowned out the waterfall of the Maskinonge river that runs under that bridge.
Taking more pics of the EMD's because they are still hanging around on the CSX Ohio River Sub. Picking up covered hoppers on a siding at Apple Grove,WV. the Q-317. Curtis
From about 1976 or so, an old scan of what I think is C&NW Train 599 at Barrington, IL with set-outs for the Chevy plant in Janesville, WI. Double track main with left-hand operation, a C&NW trademark. I wonder if the UP continues this tradition?
As far as I know, UP does. AND up until around 10 years ago, they were still leading trains with those 40-2s, because they had the C&NW cab signalling.
Got to combine work with train chasing this morning! Stopped at the Glendive creek bridge and got the left side of this short train. Then drove 25 miles east and south to catch it going up through Hodges on it's way up Beaver Hill. Where I got the right side of the train. Lots of interesting cars in the consist, which are in the videos. It is a 500+ ft climb with a few twists on it's way up. Then I finished my house checking for a vacationing customer.
