Happy Thanksgiving Santa Fe 4-8-4 2925 at night in Old Sacramento. Wed. Ooooh, that's nice, YoHo! That's really getting into the Christmas spirit, with 1:1 train sets to boot! That ATSF Northern at night is really gorgeous. From ATSF to SP, we come to CPR. From inside the cab, looking down the hood of CPR 6591, a MLW S-3 built in 1957: IMGP1703A_CPR_6591_MLW_S3 by Mike VE2TRV posted Nov 25, 2016 at 5:45 AM That S-3 is an operating unit, that is used regularly on museum grounds for short train rides. Nice feeling to stand inside the cab of a locomotive that still runs regularly - and belches smokes out of that stack). Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario, Smiths Falls, August 24th, 2013.
Taken last Sunday in Cayce, SC at CSX's (ex-SAL) yard. The paint on the noses of the SD-70MACs has faded to an ugly beige and the 4805 takes its appearance down another notch with it's 'X' in CSX falling off.
At least it hasn't degraded to "CYA". Try as I might, I can't come up with anything meaningful, amusing, or even sacrilegious for CSY.
Saw some power swapping going on here the other da on the east end of the yard, and all in older paint jpbs!. If you look close you will see a bit of grass growing between the rails. And this is a class 1 main?.
