Well, the baby is asleep and JMRI is busy installing itself on a computer I put together for the club. If all goes well, I will wow them with Engine Driver tomorrow. But Alas, I've not seen anything new in Roseville this week. So, from the Archives. I still miss North County...and 3751
Steam's the theme! If you're looking for the Exporail museum, which is not visible from the main road, here's your landmark: IMGP12829_Exporail_Landmark by Mike VE2TRV posted Sep 2, 2016 at 4:49 AM Go south on highway 209, and turn left at the locomotive... Old Sydney Collieries 25 is a Baldwin, built in 1900 as a 2-4-oT for Nova Scotia Steel & Coal as their #8, also named E.E. Bigge. At some time it was converted to use a tender. It's been gracing the entrance to the museum as far back as I can remember, the first time I visited was September 1975 when I was just shy of 12 years old (and less than two years into my love affair with trains). This was taken last August 20th as I sat in my car waiting for opening time.
Rockdale, Texas. A really awesome restoration. They used old photos to recreate the cupola on the roof as the original one was demolished when the structure was used as a feed store for 30 years.
First mixed freight for the new Kanawha River Railroad. 3 ex-SP SD 45's converted into SD40-2's. Crossing from WV into Ohio, across the Ohio River. Curtis
Mike, I've seen many engines Stuffed & Mounted, but this is the first time I've seen one put on a Pedestal.....
From August 1992 is a Georgia Woodlands Railroad train at Washington, GA on a former Georgia Railroad branch.
That's awesome indeed! Another example proving that railroad architecture ranks among the most beautiful. And whoever suggested that it be used as a feed store should be fed to the chickens for his crime.
