    Last day of July.
And I saw UP's employee appreciation engine in Roseville yard. Haven't had a chance to edit it and sun was at a horrible angle, but I post it anyway.

Only thing new for me is a quick shot while driving south of Hearne on my way home the other day.

UP 9380 leads a northbound CSX through Emerson GA just after a late breakfast in 2004. There is a dive here called Doug's Place just out of sight to the right across the tracks. Name makes it sound like a bar but it's a hole in the wall restaurant with some great food. I especially love the breakfast. Highly recommended stop if you have the time. :)

NS 192 advances north at Blythewood, SC on 03/17/2019. NS has since rearranged train schedules and this train is no longer seen here. Other than the daily local, daylight trains are scarce on this segment today.

Lead unit 9171 is due for rebuilding into a AC44C6M. NS has over 280 of its Dash 9s stored.

Nice stuff from everyone this week. I've got a couple I took at Train Festival 2009

Leviathan rides the turntable at the steam railroading institute. Just showing in the background is a Great Lakes Central GP35.

There were long lines for cab tours of all of the steam locomotives present, but we did get to see Leviathan. Definitely a work of art.
