Nothing Heritage here today. MBTA in the Snow Arriving and Departing Roslindale Station in a mild snow storm. Arrival: Departing: Sorry folks, Wish I had something cool to show you.
Here are a few shots from today. The snow and overcast weather meant my photos aren’t the best, but I guess it’s better than nothing. A loaded coal train takes the main while a manifest waits in the siding at Block, Illinois. A Conrail 86’ auto parts boxcar on an NS auto parts train. This is not my best shot; it looks like I was a split-second too early on the trigger and cut one end of the car off, but these old Southern cars are some of my favorite 86’ boxes. This photo is from the same train as the CR car above. I've taken a liking to the big boxcars since Tangent has been making their model of the car. My biggest disappointment of the day was missing a shot of a very rare 45’ well car. This was one of the ex-APL cars with 40’ end wells and 45’ intermediate wells, now patched for BRAN. I guess you guys can have the pleasure of looking at them on rrpictureachives: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/rsList.aspx?aid=S450&id=BRAN
Nope! Ex-CN SW1200RS, with typical CN cylindrical spark arrestors, the full lignt and number board package, and of course, Flexicoil road trucks. Built as CN 1242 back in 1956. So it's 66 years old and still at work.
