Each Fall in the Houston area, the San Jacinto Model RR Club publishes a list of layouts for an open house tour. Here is a scene from Gordon Bliss's home layout.
And a great event it is. For any TrainBoard folk in the Houston area here's a link to the San Jacinto Club's website where you can download a schedule of what layouts are open which weekends. The schedule is in pdf formet http://sanjac.leoslair.com/tour.htm The open house tour schedule started last weekend and will run through Dec 2nd. Russ - planning on posting photos from other layouts you visit during the open house season? Regards Ed (who is planning to see some when I come NOB at Thanksgiving)
Really fine images, and super modelling, Russell. Gives me something to shoot for. I may have posted the last of these three images recently...can't recall. In any event, here is my contribution for the weekend:
Very nice water by Gordon Bliss, Russell. I hope to see a local layout here tomorrow. Here are my Texas Star Express (Rockwall, Texas) trailers made with my home made decals. These are my first trailers that I made myself; it was a fun project. I'm just painting and decalling so far; I'm not sure what details to add. Here is the prototype. Fifty-three footer, though.
Here are the latest additions to the RK&M roster. These are the 11 hoppers I have been weathering for the last few months. Atlas RS-11: Penn Central Atlas RS-11: Penn Central Atlas ACF 3-Bay Cylindrical Hopper: Penn Central Atlas ACF 3-Bay Cylindrical Hopper: Hooker

Tom, too bad you couldn't have provided a video of that passage...it would have been really sweet. As it is, the cars and engines are really nicely done. I love the RS 11 diesels...distinctive, and I may have to get one since the Winnipeg, Duluth & Pacific had at least one that I know of (I think I have that name right). You have a very nice layout based on what I see. -Crandell
Thanks Crandell! I have not been able to videos for a couple of weeks. I have been working on another section the layout and the tracks have been blocked by building supplies. If all goes well I may get one done before Sunday night.
nothing new to offer this week, but since I'm sitting in a hotel room playing with photoshop, here's a different look at a pic from last week.
Here are some pics of my step son enjoying his new kato unitrack,, along with some of my buildings and rolling stock. I taught him how to use a uncoupling tool I made,,, he is pretty good with it!!!! Santa will bring him some more,, so he will have his own to play/destroy if he wants.LOL Adios Wyatt
I like those pictures with kids. I've made a picture from the last train, Ex 6612: and I've made a few [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2_E1coN50s]video[/ame]. I simple had to run my grain unit. Wolfgang
Really good stuff this week. Here's something a little different. Back in the late '60s,NJ gave EL $$$$ to upgrade the commuter service. They got the U-34-CH's & P.S. Comet 1 cars. They were used in "push-pull"service. I did "MY" version of the big u boat & Scott Lupia did a very good( OK,its execllent) version of a Comet 1 cab car(#1500).
Wyatt, I was wondering how is your excelent layout is doing! Havent seen a update I rember that you had a bunch of switches at a industrial yard? or something. BTW Great photos everyone.
