They look like a variation on CN's cylindrical arrestors, but the exhaust goes in one end and goes around cooling off before exiting at the other end. Interesting.

They were installed on a fair number of MILW SW engines, and on several of the SD7 and SD9 units. There was an N scale detail parts manufacturer who made these, but is out of business. So I am wondering if these came from that same source, or can be found elsewhere.

I actually have no idea. The unit came with them. Someone had it listed as NOS Lifelike.

I had a couple of packages of that spark arrestor set aside and saved. But now I cannot find them. :( I am thinking they were from Detail Associates.

Yup, that's where I got mine when I was in N doing Milw.

You must have put them in a "safe place", as my Mom used to say. Might as well have chucked them into a black hole.

They're probably in an alternate universe right next to my wire bender...

I eventually stumble upon lost things in unexpected places. I have learned to leave them there and not move them to someplace "logical" because when I finally need them, I remember where I found them but not where I moved them to.

There are a couple listings that just showed up on eBay for the MILW Spark Arrestor for SW Units in 3d Resin, if you happen to still be looking
