I am having trouble getting this thread going from my cell phone so no photo yet for me. Let's see what every one has.
A rare old BL-2 on the main beyond a closed spur. I'll be making the main look much newer, and I'll rust up the rails and probably add more overgrowth on the old line. Mike
I received some goodies from Japan last weekend. The first is a JNR Class D51 2-8-2 by Kato: The other is a 2 car set of JNR Kiha48-300 DMUs by Tomix: And finally, a 4 car set of Yamanote Line EMUs by Kato:
Mike, When I first rolled up on your photo , I could have sworn I was looking at a prototpe shot ( until I got to the background ) .... I'd leave the track / landscape barren on the closed spur , it looks so real, especally in the low horizan light shot . Nice work indeed ! oh and the train looks pretty good as well
Hi, everyone. It has been at least a year since I posted, and because I have no layout and am building one (just getting around to the scenery now), I will have to post an old photo. On the Ready Track
Paperkite, I have to agree, Mike does beautiful work. He never ceases to amaze me with his photos here, and Crandell, I miss your photos, they are always winners in my book.
Today I´ve digged out an old H0 diorama of a german gas station, I´ve buld some 25 years ago. Added some cars and took a few pics. I´ve to overhaul ist. And clean it !!
There ought to be a law about work that looks this good , the steam exhaust plume is simply perfect ... you and Mike need to give lessons along with Steam Donkey and Hoexplorer...
Herr Brosch, My neighbor here in Mtn Home Idaho, had a Rumley , as he passed away a few years back his son sold it and I miss the chug thump of it when he ran it in our 4th of July Parade and Armed Forces Day parades. I like the junk/used vehiclar dealer yard , is vaguely reminiscent of rural scenes here in Idaho . Nice work on the rest of it . The weathering is spot on for that industry
Thanks to all of you who responded to my image. I miss posting, but all I have are the old images and newer ones showing my crude benchwork on the new build. The previous image was thoughtfully improved by a friend on another forum who was a pro photog. What he doesn't know about photography isn't worth printing. He is also very skilled with PhotoShop, which he used to sharpen the image a bit and to add the smoke effects. I don't have the programme, so I have to create my own smoke and steam plumes by using a cloning brush such as found in FastStone and SageLight. I think maybe Gimp has one, too. Here is one of my own efforts. Better than nothing, but hardly an overlay of a real steamer's product.
