One of my favorite passenger trains has been the Budd built SP Sunset Limited. The first time I built it I used Rowa cars with the old Slumber Coach roofs. Then when Con Cor came out with their Budd cars, I reequipped the trainset with those. Now I am going through and upgrading the Con Cor cars with M&R Brass sides. Here is the first one out of the shop. This is a partitioned chair car, AKA Jim Crow car, that ran in Louisiana and Texas between New Orleans and El Paso.
I finally finished detailing and weathering my F7B in H0 scale. Still need those diaphragms. Details: Five more to go...
Flash, you have done a marvellous job on that F-unit. Congratulations! I saw a newcomer to the Seneca Falls Sub...this Santa Fe type UP TTT (2-10-2). It was taking some deliveries up to the Sentinel Coal Mine, and had just left the main on the mine spur. (BLI Brass Hybrid with QSI decoder...really sweet!)
I'm still working on my fictional "South Street Sub" of my CP Rail northeast division, here is A CP manifest train with a pair of SOO SD60's on point passing through on the way to South Philadelphia yard:
Nicely done all! Flash, that B unit is HOT!! Crandell, nice steam catch! JSOFLO...what can I say but that it is lookin' good!
Here's one of 4 structures I received in the mail today. Hanson's service station. It'll be boarded up when I'm through with it. Here's a recent project. Converting an Amtrak observation car into a MoW car.
All lookin great! Scott, the SAR units look great in that setting, also LOVE the MOW car. BTW can't help but think of Wayne's World whenever I see that trashed Pacer The captive steamer is great too.
SNFF 2009 03 14 Hi, all, Couple of things this week: -------------- 1) Thx to many of you on the forums, I discovered Neolube #2 this past month. Makes the Santa Fe 2-8-8-2 and any 'shiny rod' steamer look a lot better: compared to the stock appearance: What's nice about Neolube, being a easy to apply graphite lubricant (just 'paint it on the moving parts of the rods, pistons, etc), I think it actually made my loco run a touch smoother, in addition to looking better: I found Micro-Mark sells Neolube, among other places. --------------- 2) I was up in Seattle on business and hooked up with Walt Huston: Had a great time. One of the great things about this hobby is the people we get to meet. ------------- Have a good week, all!
I came back for a youth leaders retreat today and was able to spend a few minutes at Palmer Lake, CO. I was able to catch the BNSF 6273 leading empties North in the late afternoon sun.

Switching with a camera. A private roadname car from a late friend, Madison Railroad. Pulling cars from McMurphy. Those switch stands are not oversized. Wolfgang
