The south bound Texas Chief, using track rights over the SP to run between Rosenberg and Houston, crosses the Brazos River in Richmond. The prototype for this bridge has been in the news the last week as the recent flood eroded the river bank in the foreground causing the pier under the first B unit to settle. The UP is positioning materials and equipment around the site to start repairs as soon as the flood recedes.

Russell, a really nice picture, love the bridge!!

I finished work on a couple of cars that fit into my transition era consists for when I run steam and early diesels.

Thought I would post some old photos of my real life work train...These are HO scale models of what I operate four days a week, 10 and a half hours a day....
Locos are Tru-Line Trains MP36s, cars are by Athearn.

Milwaukee was too broke to afford soap to wash their locomotives.
Here's a real one at Tide Flat Yard in Tacoma Wa.

" Here's my two cents." This expression dates back to New York in 1918. All the great newspapers in New York like Joseph Pulitzer's, New York World, and William Randolph Hearst's, Journal were all priced the same. In 1918 the price was raised from one cent to two. So the people started using this expression. If you wanted to quote another newspaper you might say, " Well here's my two cents"

@dti406 Rick, I would have loved to have had the car stay that new, but the area and date were out of my time and space. The HS railroad is in the south and it seems they have many previous owners cars in a similar state, (and it was a fun project using the prototype car as reference) . For the record , you did a great job on the model :)
