Here are some attachments from todays GTE in Pomona. I know they are not the best, but as my eye heals up my pix will to. After a week without sight in my left eye I am just now begining to see some improvement. These are all from the Nland Pacific groups modules.
I've been working on an abandoned factory and sidings. It's still a work in progress with more detail to be added, but the more I look at the shot, the less satisfied I am with it all. trying to put my finger on it - maybe too much green overall or the grass is too tall? Or perhaps because N-scale tends to photograph better at three feet rather than up close?
If you ask me, it looks great. The building is excellent. You *might* consider mixing some other shades of green in, maybe even some yellows/tans (for dead grass). I can't quite tell from the photo - those vertical things spaced evenly along the track, are those fence posts or weed clumps?
More fine photos, everyone. Bruce to me your scene looks like late spring after good rain  Would some bare ground with puddles be any use? Looks very good anyway. Thankyou for the comments on my earlier pic - especially Pete T :embarrassed: A view of a modest amount of action at the loading dock, before the weekend's over. Mike
Joe Cox custom painted Pan Am boxcars, 22 Jul 2009. Jason steam train on the old Sydney N Scale Club layout, 26 Jan 2004. A lone and rare SW1 works in San Antonio engine terminal (ex-Espee) on 14 Aug 2000.
Did a little bit of detailing over the weekend. Since the remaining fleet of BN's GP40's were rebuilt in the late 80's by Morrison Knudsen, I renumbered this loco to match the rebuild numbers. This was the first time I've had to use MicroSet while decaling to go over some irregularities. After messing up a few numbers, I finally got the hang of it. This loco is now up for auction. Mike
Nice building. But the lawyers will own the company if anyone ever uses those doors on the upper floors!
^ True, very true: The upper doors were never finished. I have several boom and crane kits that were to be applied over those doors indicating "hoisting" or "implying" freight up to those levels from the elevated siding. The lower door over the extension is planned w/ steps down to that roof. The door over that one would be "boarded-up". The building is about 90% complete and waiting for a few details. BTW: I start framing in the attic this weekend for the new trainroom. "MAYBE" a year from now I will be loading that puppy back on a layout. [/prayer]
