I, too, love "night" scenes. After all, half of each day is nighttime! My 22' x 26' L-shaped layout room has no windows so that makes "nighttime" photography easier. All the bulbs are 12v incandescent, and I run them at 9 volts for longevity as well as for the warm, yellow glow of bulbs from back in time. For lanterns and kerosene you could probably run these bulbs at 6 volts or thereabouts. This picture is of Sarah's Valley, the depot shown earlier is down the street a bit. John
Stop it! All these night scenes have me searching my supplies for my miniature lights. I have too many projects going right now and this is distracting.
You need good lighting when you work in a garage. Nice collection of belts and tools on the back wall. And I hope the kid finds what he is looking for in the vending machine. :v
One of my attempts at night scenes. The headlight on a steam locomotive on the left is lighting up the passengers waiting on the platform.
All these lighted scenes have me thinking about how so few people really pay good attention to such detailing.
Sorry I missed this week, but I was busy riding the Durango/Silverton narrow gauge train in Colorado instead!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim
Wow! What a wonderful array of photos this weekend! Thanks to all for posting. Oh ... Candy, the Ford pickup in your first post ... flame job hand done? Or decal?
I'll tell you her secret - she has a shrinking machine to reduce her to scale and she goes in there to airbrush everything herself. Now that I've told the secret, the Candy Army will be out to get me... I like that garage - there's just the right amount of grime and as usual, the attention to details is awesome (hopefully that will earn me some mercy for spilling the beans).
There was a bit too much blue in Grampy's Trains picture so I took it down a bit. It looks better I think.
