A couple of shots of my Stewart C628 & C630 hauling a 36 car ore train on the Strongsville, OH club layout. Thanks for looking! Rick J
Right back at you. Hoping this year turns out to be better then last year but not holding my breath. Sigh! All the other pictures submitted here put mine to shame. Nice, very nice! Here we have an arrival and departure occurring at the same time. The picture shows my work in progress. I had just finished installing another leg of the layout with a mini-city of San Berdu, as built by Greg McGinnis. I had to redo the track work in front of the station to fit into my layout. We now have a Santa Fe A yard with leads to the B yard. Just no room for the B yard...yet! The SP, Del Monte arriving while the AT&SF Chippewa Chief heads out for the Redlands Loop. The Del Monte is arriving where? Now how did that happen? A view of the train station as scratch built by Greg McGinnis. Note the name on the station. You can look it up. Yes, there's a story behind it. But you might want to e-mail me so I can tell it without getting censored. Grin! Happy New Year! Oop's a slow start for the new year. I just realized this is a weekend warrior post. My pictures are from many weekends ago. Sorry about that. Have fun!
Happy New Year to you all. I call this photo 'Hidden Things' because you would be shocked to know how few folks see this wreck on the layout even though it is less than a foot away from the entrance to the room! Jim
Hey, if this is in the Allegheny National Forest, I found that missing left fender while I was working out there last summer!
D&RGW 2-6-0 steam A Rio Grande 2-6-0 brings James west toward Salt Lake City to meet up with Artemis Gordon....
And so it is. Greg used an inordinate amount of size compression to build this. Missing is the east end of the station, the Harvey House, lunch counter. I've heard tell there wasn't much need for a dining room just a lunch counter. Thanks for noticing it. On Greg's HO layout he has a model of the same station and it takes up almost half of the layout. You don't think we are into the old Santa Fe Passenger Station in San Bernardino, Ca., do you? Some nice photos submit by the rest of you...WOW! Mike, the hidden stub end yard is what I had in mind for under my city. I ran out of room both topside and underneath. Sigh! Like what you've done.
The Super Bowl Express for Super Bowl 49 The SBEX has departed the station and already left behind two cars, the Cards and the Steelers. Let's hope the Lions and the Bengals can win today!
Spoken like a true football fan. Nice, way to express and mix both your passions for football and your railroading. Fun! You need a set of NFL and AFL passenger cars to bring up the rear. Grin!
I went to the Train Show at the Crainway Pavilion in Richmond, Ca. today. Patrick, a friend of mine, introduced me to Brad, who's a member of the Peninsula Ntrak group. Like Patrick and I, he also collects Japanese prototype trains and built this really sweet Japanese module: Here's a closer look. The building in the foreground had an interior and lighting:
I'm curious about something, Mike - now that you've had your realignment in place for a bit, do you feel it gives a better urban feel to have the trains disappearing relative to the downtown?
It was the only way to get a yard. I didn't want to start a 2nd level, because the size of buildings would make the height of the overall layout would be too high. Under the layout is off limits also. Alot of benchwork. The main lines were not affected. I'm happy to have the 8 tracks.
