The N&W 4-8-0 that I kit bashed a few years ago. There is a new article that I wrote about building it in the 2016 NTRAK Steam Annual that was just published.
Russell, nice work on that M Class, I know it was a kit bash and great for N-Scale. But the boiler looks too small for a M2 and too large for a M!, but the overall concept is great and looks good, I knew what it was as soon as I saw it! Managed to get a couple of cars completed this week! Athearn Chemical Tank Car Kit, painted with Scalecoat II Reefer White and Black Paints, then lettered with Oddballs Decals. ExactRail PS 4427 Covered Hopper Kit, painted with Scalecoat II Reefer White and lettered with Oddballs Decals. These cars were originally ordered in 1964 and were repainted in this paint scheme in 1978 when the SOO was doing their white paint kick on cars. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
Thanks. Yeah, they were brutes. I just modified a stock Bachmann 2-8-0 as best I could. My first exposure to these old guys was when some friends showed me the "Lost Locomotives of Roanoke" many years ago. They were quite hidden and covered in vegetation at the time. The photo here shows after the brush had been cut away and the locomotives were being moved to various museums after the scrap yard was closed and being redeveloped.
Candy; very realistic interior detailing on your building, and the lighting is just right....it's obviously later in the evening so the repair shop area lights are turned down as the mechanics have gone home. Good job!
Thank You I bought that building at a train show for $5.00 Well it sat around for months before deciding to do something with it. I changed a car dealership into a motorcycle shop. It took me months to build the interior and make new signs..etc It came out well. I was very pleased with it. Here is the other side
Candy, I must agree with Josta on the lighting and all but on the back side view it shows how talented you are to pick out the small details. Details like a little trash in the street near the curb, missing pickets on the fence, signs nailed up on the fence. the crowning blow is the dirt area in front of the truck tractor where it looks like some scraper pushed back some mud or dirt towards the fence, even a little dirt on the driveway. The billboard is very well done and young lady you can not hide from those pretty eyes. That has to be you ! carl
Candy, Harley Davidson sold the Walther's kits with Harley Davidson decals at Harley dealerships. I picked one up for a dicsount at a Harley Dealership when I worked for Harley and even got my employee's discount. Someday it will get built! Rick Jesionowski
The train around the tree...started this 2016 season off with the White Coca Cola train, and added some Geneva Steel cars on the end...
Rick: Excellent work. Working on my layout so much has taken time away for me with respect to building and painting cars. That and decal work is my favorite part of the hobby. I always enjoy seeing the cars you build and letter..... thanks!
I have a trick I do when I want to make a messy area. It's kinda crazy but it works great. My secret BTW there is a locomotive in that picture. Can you find it? McGinnis orange
Phase 1A (Ground cover) is complete. Phase 1B (ballasting) is underway. Mainline and industrial complex are finished. Now working on ballasting the yard. Thanks, Wolf
