GEVO Demonstrators - yeah right... I did finally finish this two GEVO Demonstrator "lookalikes", they are based on two normal Kato AC4400CWs. after innumerably attempts to paint the "swoosh" I gave up and did decal the bloody thing instead...
I almost never post anything to this thread, because I don't think I take very good pictures of my n-scale layout. I am a bit of a perfectionist. I don't have a good camera setup for taking these photos (I was spoiled when I was a photog in the USAF - never got a good enough camera after that) and I always find flaws in the models. Oh well, caution to the wind. Here's a laser cut kit I built earlier this year. Nice kit, but the instructions were HORRIBLE.
Greg, That road looks great. It's the right combination of color, discoloration, and marks....very nice. Here is the final "installment" of the Hospital series. I planted it on the layout Thursday and took some quick shots of it. There is still more to do to detail the scene but it is done for now. The city blocks in the background still have to come up and get weathered and detailed. They will have to be lifted over where the hospital sets so I am not going to do the finish detail work till the harder stuff to reach is done. The whole layout is a jigsaw puzzle. Almost every building on the layout is on a sub-base of some kind. Each city block lifts out as one piece, the surrounding blocks come up the same way so I can work on a section at a time when it comes time to do the finish detail work. There is a guardrail that will be installed here next week to keep the cars from running up onto the tracks.
Steve; great looking GEVO Demo units!! I been trying to collect the EMD and GE demonstrators; so far I have the ac4400, SD45, GP60, now the SD60, and I have been after the dash9 unit for a while now. Everytime I see it on Ebay, I can't get it.:tb-frown: Greg & Tony; excellent work on the building kits!! You have alot more patience than I do for building those, lol.:tb-biggrin:
I finally get to post something that has some basic scenery. I still need to add bushes and grass(dead and burnt or coarse).
What a great amount of diverse photos this weekend...love it. I have finally gotten to the point to start a diorama for the rail ferry and new barge loading facility that unfortunately will not 'yet' fit on the BearCat.:tb-cool: Note to self: ensure that you weather pilings after the water soluble glue has dried: ensure to stain before gluing. Its your fault Frisco Kid!
