So long old buddy My layout is history , just finished hauling it away to the junk pile this morning. So now it is on with the new one and one last look at the old one..... http://youtu.be/-RamtX_sJPY
A great new beginning, dieselfan...starts with a trip to the dumpster. Good luck with your new venture. I revist a photo I took over two years ago (seems like it should be more to me, but it was only January of 2009). I have tidied up the background hills and added smoke and team effects, plus cropped out the bottom fuzzy stuff as much as I dare.
Saucier Village is almost complete. Yet to come, power poles, hanging traffic light, and entry walkways for some of the buildings. Maybe a siren atop the Fire House/Town Hall. Hmmm, I think I need an ESSO sign at Glenn Smith's Store....? Looking up Hill Street, to the hills......
TwinBoy helped me make some trees for my wye diorama, using the Woodland Scenics Forest Canopy starter kit... I think he did a pretty good job... Meanwhile, TwinGirl got almost all of her track laid on her shelf layout... ... and I built a MicroEngineering 40 foot bridge girder to load up a gondola... Fun weekend!!
Great pics as usual this week. I just finished decaling this little ditty today. GP-9 1843 is an ex T&P engine with dynamic brakes. I still need to weather the unit and add windows to finalize this project but, it gives me another "local" unit in Van Buren.
BLMA Signal Head with led's Here are a couple of photos of some work I've been doing with adding Nano LED's to BLMA's N Scale signal head for some early signal Bridge and Cantilever Signal Bridge. When done they will be connected to a DCC signal system. Green Yellow Red and a video showing them in action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liwjuUrXz48
Tracy, this car came from a kit. You know those TOMALCO kits? You get some wood strips and an instruction sheet together with a few plastic parts like box car doors, brass parts like brake wheel and turnbuckles and wires for the grab irons. Wolfgang
Thank you Ron. I've been busy with family matters of late and my own health is giving me some problems I have to contend with.
It looks very good to me. What did you use as a pattern for the frame, or is it freelanced? From your other posts in the Ho scale forum I get a sense you are heading toward 1900's to 1920's modelling. What kind of loco power are you planning to use?
Thanks! The frame is based on an old NMRA Bulletin article from 2003 or 2004 (I'm at work and don't have the magazine with me). As for your other questions about era and such, I'll refer you to "the plan" :tb-smile:
