Good morning from partly sunny and cool Northeast Ohio!

Only got one car done this week as I managed to destroy a set of decals while applying them to a car, so another set is on order.

The car I completed is a Red Caboose, PC&F R70-15 Reefer for the BAR. In the late 70's the BAR modernized the cars by removing the roofwalk and painting them in their new paint scheme with the woods, mountain and water logo. These cars were used for the Potato rush in the fall but were traded with PFE for PFE's use in the summer vegatable and fruit rush and PFE's would then go to the BAR for the fall and winter potato rush.

Since I did not get a second car done this week, here is one of my latest projects, a Lot 955B NYC and others 50' Boxcar. Started with a Soo Line Historical Society Fond du Lac boxcar kit that was made by Accurail. It has the proper number of ribs. I am removing the roof and ends as I need the Despatch Shops roof and ends that I had left over from some of my Branchline kits. I will also have to modify the underframe with Moloco End of car cushioning kits. Here I have one side cut out and will be cutting the next side out.

Stewart U25B and Atlas C425 both modified to match the New Haven Prototypes with general freight running on the Strongsville Club layout.

Installing Just Plug lighting and LED's on the layout. Some still in mock up stage. But wiring underneath complete pretty much. Man lighting makes a world of difference. Have to remove the tiny pieces of foam helping them stand up for now and put in hole underneath the little foam piece. Did that so I could adjust them for location I wanted, and to help them stand up straight for now.

Love that paint scheme, it have a particular name. And also that the other rolling stock matches it, if you know what I mean? Awesome pictures and video. Very nice! Also, what Scale?

Oh, that's pretty! The clean lines of those first E-units were just plain beautiful. In B&O colors, no less...

Both the upper bridge and lower trestle are back in service, here the CNW 2511 pulls a short freight over the lower trestle.

I live near the Erie Canal and run and ride my bike on the towpath often. You nailed the color in mid summer. The subtle streaks of darker green give it realism. Nice work.

    Nice work, Candy!:)

The stonework and the canal water color are great.

Yep. The Richelieu River is sometimes close to that shade of green in summer too, when the current is slower. I once visited my sister there one summer and I remarked about the green color.

She replied, "You're lucky, most of the time it's brown...". Yeah, that shade of brown.:sick:

Here are more scenery progress shots, showing my weekend progress. I worked on two separate areas. The first is the approach to Specialty Minerals and the second area is Letourneau Gorge. The Gorge is a fictional location and there is nothing like it on the Housatonic RR, but my friend Louis Letourneau (a/k/a "Trainforfun"), encouraged me to put in a trestle scene anyway, since it is supposed to be a fun hobby. I named it after him and added the beaver dam and lodge as a tribute to my Canadian friend. I still need to add some gnawed tree stumps, reeds and cattails, then do a final layer on the spring-fed pond surface. The morning light photo was taken this morning. I had toned down the gray rock formations with some pan pastels after dinner. The full "daylight" shot was taken before the subtle shading and color was added with the pastels. 20220416_100549-1.jpg 20220416_100658-1.jpg Daylight view-1.jpg Morning Light-1.jpg
