Here is my second Poll question to RR Web Masters so we can compair findings which might help us all improve our sites.
What I'm seeing on my sites currently: Mainly 1024 x 768 On the DHVM are: 40.30 % - 1024 x 768 25.50 % - 800 x 600 18.20 % - Other Resolution _9.09 % - 1280 x 1024 _2.85 % - 1152 x 864 _0.62 % - 1600 x 1280 _0.45 % - 640 x 480 On the RRAdventures are: 52.01 % - 1024 x 768 37.60 % - 1280 x 1024 _6.54 % - 800 x 600 _1.71 % - Other Resolution _1.47 % - 1152 x 864 _0.67 % - 1600 x 1280 _0.01 % - 640 x 480
15 Votes so far 60.00 % - 1024 x 768 (9 Votes) 26.67 % - 1280 x 1024 (4 Votes) 13.33 % - 800 x 600 (2 Votes) It seems from the votes so far that those voting are seeing the same Screen Resolutions that I do; that is 1024 x 768. Because of this I tend to resize our "Full Scale" Railfan Digital Camera (8MP) images down to 900x600 which leaves a nice margin around them without having allot of wasted space. I still try to compress them down to 100K or less for space / bandwidth reasons for longterm viewing. For my older/smaller digital camera (1.2MP) I resize those images to 800x600 so they fit nicely in about the same space by centering the image. This way the webpages for the most part display equally. The VideoFrames I pull out of my Camcorder are already at 640x480 so I don't resize them at all and center them on the page as well.

So much dead space for those with widescreen monitors. If I recall correctly, the next update will allow individual users to set their display pixel width, yes?
