This morning in N.E. Portland a Union Pacific freight derailed under the I-84 & I-205 interchange. From the looks of the photos on TV the cars straightlined across a curve. Centrebeam flats with lumber went on their sides and some cars are derailed on the overpass of the freeway and are leaning to the inside of the curve. No Haz-Mat involved just spilled lumber loads. wwwKOIN.com should have some video.
As someone had said on another forum and I'll agree to his comment: This has been a bad month for Union Pacific. First the flooding in the Midwest; then a coal train derailment out in Nebraska and now this derailment. Let me jinx this and say---What else could go wrong?
