The crew stop halfway over the Badger Creek trestle to make sure the barrels are full of water. Trestle fires are caused by engine ashes so a ready supply of water is needed. The loco is a Bachmann 0-6-0 pressed into logging service. Those N gauge folk are really tiny.
Great picture Robin. That reminds me, I don't have any water barrels on my trestle. What did you make yours out of?
Good picture, Robin. I use sand in the trestle barrels, it puts out creosote-fuelled smudges well, and doesn't evaporate. ....just kidding, but a lot of RR's did use sand...regards / Mike
