Kansas railroad company expands operations Watco Cos., based in Pittsburg, has acquired the operations of Reload Inc., a rail transloading and warehousing company with locations in Arizona, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois and Alabama. Watco operates railroads in 15 states and is the parent company of the Wichita-based Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad. Reload has more than 25 years experience in lumber, steel and bulk industries operations. Reload vice president of sales Chris Salek and vice president of operations Phil Penner will continue their responsibilities with Reload and will manage day-to-day operations. Watco officials said the acquisition will enable the Kansas company to expand its markets and provide a growth platform for the company.
