My wife and I are speaking at the North American Science Fiction convention, running over the second weekend of August. We live in Albuquerque, and we and a few other authors are taking the train to the convention. (Grin) You know kind of a land cruise.

The only tight spot is transferring to the Silver Star in Washington. Amtrak will not sell a ticket if the layover is less than two hours, and we are scheduled in on the Capitol Limited at 1310 and the Silver Star pulls out at 1500. That gives us an hour and 50 minutes to, Change our tickets and make the train.

So do you think we can manage it? Staying in Washington is plan B, (there is a morning train that will get us there on time for our first meeting Wends) but we would rather stay in our convention room Tues night.(Grin)

    Regards,
    Kevin

Kevin, I can't believe no one responded to your original message. Personally I would have stayed in Washington despite the number of politicians who abound there. There is a lot of history to be soaked up there. :tb-biggrin:
I will look forward to your report when you get back. Put some info in the Cattle Car about the speeches and the entire event. :tb-biggrin:

    Well, we made it.

The Capitol Limited was an hour and 20 m late, but we changed our tickets and boarded in time. Now we are at the hotel, first panel Thurs.

Good ride over all, no real problems.

    Regards,
    Kevin
