I have a locomotive kit, originally made 10+ years ago, in which the sill/walkway component is rather badly warped. Does anyone have a safe and reliable way to straighten warped plastic? Thanks,

Hopefully it's possible to accomplish this. It may depend on what type of plastic. Some seem to have a "memory." And might try to return to the warped status. Can you name the manufacturer? Or guess what the material is?

MAYbe warm water, and some other controlled heat. Some resins may not unwarp, though. Just be careful, and if you have a scrap of the material, it's best to experiment with it first.

If it is 10 years old it may just break, but trying hot water is the best choice.
If unassembled, you can try to make mold of it, and pour a new resin copy, then while the resin is still pliable, hold it to the proper shape?

I had some success with a hair dryer. I aquired a old Atlas cov hopper with a bent up walkway and got it back in reasonable shape.
