First you should know this, BCRailKing (Dane) works at Central Hobbies, the store that is taking orders. It is posted all over the Atlas forum in N scale. Dane is my son.

Next, Life Like Canada is seperate from Life Like in the US...subsidiary or something...not quite sure...but I can get the dope on that if you like. Now loosen up you military types, THERE IS GOING TO BE A FEEDING FRENZY...GUARANTEE IT!!!

Life Like Canada put out the HO C liners. At Central Hobbies, men were coming in every 10 minutes for a week, picking up multiple units of C liners. I think Dane and I were the only ones who didn't buy any (wrong era -we do run at someones HO layout on Friday nights even though we are in N scale ourselves). The same will be true when the Life Like Canada C LIners are released...stand away from the counter unless you intend to pay please.

Another HO feeding frenzy is about to begin as everyone who bought the A unit C Liners in HO are now waiting for the B units to come out. No fools they at Life Like Canada; get everyone to buy lots of A units, then they need lots of B units, released a year or more latter....lol.

There will be a feeding frenzy in N scale for the C424's. If you want info, just ask me or better still my son BCRailKing. He will get your questions answered. No, we don't get a commission or anything, but Central is a key player in Canada around the Life Like Canada releases.

There will also be a feeding frenzy for the N scale C liners...promise you that too.

Here is the web site where you can order them: www.central-hobbies.com

Also; $65 American buys $100 Canadian

Also, Canadian Road names only.... okay, I hear that collective groan out there...

Also, you can order your N scale C liners here as well...

Also, I know everyone at the store, they are good people...the store has been around for at least 12 years or more...you can check in MR in the retail directory at the back...and you will see Central Hobbies advertised under Canada...British Columbia... But they don't put their web site in the ad..which I am about to give them hell for...lol.

I'm sorry, but I don't see this as a possible feeding frenzy unless these units come with the correct trucks and truck centers. Will they sell a few units? Yes, but not as many as they could if they were correct. Look at the latest LL releases, all seem correct to me. Why would they not do the right thing this time? Doesn't make any sence too me.

Well I talked to my source at Central Hobbies. The C424's will be 25/1000 of a inch to short. You can add GEU25B side what cha ma call its (side frames), on the trucks from Atlas... We think the part number is 445010 (atlas) the expected cost will be around $1.00 and they will be 38/1000 of an inch out.

Chessie we looked up the road names and the were something like only 5 road names in total that owned them, one or two in USA but I don't remember them. Sorry. The majority were owned in Canada. Ask Dane, he'll find out for you.

Also I forgot to add (this is the editing) that I solved the mystery of the difference in companies of Life Like Canada and Life Like. The situation is identical to Kadee and microtrains (which was started and owned by brother - until this spin off). Life Like in both countries is owned by brothers, but the companies are seperate legal entities.

    Chessie...

There were 53 US C424's..... 92 Canadian units and 45 Mexican units.

There were also 91 C425... most owned by Lackawana... they look very close to the C424.

The US units were owned by SP&S (Spokane ...etc) and Reading, and Toledo, Peroria, and Western,....others may have owned it.

Here is what I am thinking guys. A lot of you are upset that these things will be a few feet or inches short, how much is a foot in n scale anyways? But some of you have sugjested that you will wait for Atlas or Kato to do a correct one, but if what Paul G says is correct Atlas will not make another locomotive that has been recently done, so If any of you want a C424 any time soon I would get one of these or you might not ever get one.

Like most have said here, I don't have a problem with a few scale inches missing, it's the incorrect truck frames that bother me. I don't need any of these anyway, but if you're going to do a Locomotive now, you better get the thing as close to right as possible. :(
