Hi. I thought you folks in 'railfanning' would know first about this. It's to enhance my HO, standard gauge switchback RR which is now loosely based on Hagans as my trackage kind of came out this way, years into it. ..I.E. I went from complete fiction at first, to later finding out about Hagans and thus see it this way now...plausible reality...Please, no L&N-club shots or schematics as I already have those. It's the way she looks nowadays I'd like to get a gander at. The track, towns, CSX video, Etc. Thanks much, Mark

Do you use Google Earth satellite view? It's free and you can get detailed overhead pics of nearly everyplace in the world (except polar areas which don't have as much satellite coverage.) Views are not "real time" but usually no older than a year or two. Most anyplace in the US with public roads, you can go to "street view" and see a 360 degree view every 50 feet down the street or road. Took 10 or 15 minutes to load on my computer... "Historical imagery" also available with aerial photos plotted to the same location as the satellite view. I have used Google Earth for numerous projects researching railroad geography. The track, the towns. (but no video...sorry)

I went here (http://www.railpictures.net/) and searched for keyword Hagan and came up with about a dozen good shots. Switchback as a search keyword might be useful but a search for the particular towns (clickable links in the photos) will filter out the stuff that doesn't apply.

Great info ! Thanks, didn't think of these ideas. I still only use library computers and am Yahoo. But I have seen even my own apartment building with my car out front on one of these (kind of) intrusive, big-brotherish sky-view things !! The technology is simply awesome. And I guess I'll become a hypocrite when I start lookin' at someone else's railroad ....!
