you no people have voted and expressed your desires in your posts. good job and good for you. *clap clap. a no is unproductive. ultimately let the manufacturers decide what to make or not. unless you are intermountain or the manufacturer, us peons have no authority in saying if something will make or break their banks.
and then youll get a bunch of no's with everyone wanting fragmented things without focus. been there done that. really? a SP fan wanting a no? what never came through here? im curious. also curious as to why a SP fan wouldnt want one to pull either freight or pax?
Probably same reason I don't... As he mentioned, he never saw in his area... As for me, all the SDP45s were retired for about 10-15 years by the time I model. Only reason I might get one if they were made available as in my world...BN rebuilt SD45/F45s into SD40-2 standards...so I can always add SDP45s to this list if someone comes out with them.
Heck yah! BN & GN for me!!! I fondly rememeber my first sighting of one on my first trip to Galesburg in 1997.
Doubt it, BN had retired all of the SDP45s by 1987. And the one in 87 was the unit used for the testing of the 4 axle radial truck. Most were retired in 1986.
Thats the main reason I'm not interested in one. I model the modern era. I have absolutely no reason to own one. I would rather see something new from the year 2000 and up.
Hmm. Wonder what I saw then. I knew it was special as it had that distinctive "longer hood/room for a steam generator" on the back of the locomotive. Either way, all I could do is quickly glance, dumbfounded, as I continued running to get pictures of the BN(SF) executive train.
Probably an SDP40, BN had them forever, and BNSF had them for a while, think they were finally retired early 2000s
