I almost was the owner of a Milwaukee Road SW1, a little over twenty years back. Had the engine lined up. Had the funds to buy it. Had a low-boy available. Had help lined up to rebuild it. But could not set up any place to put it. It was operational, it was scrapped.

    WAAAHHHHH!!!!!!

It pains me, every time I recall the events surrounding that loss. I tried. Believe me, I tried. But when you have no place to put it, you're all through.

There's at least four ex-Frisco unit in there. If only I had the money, a bigger back yard, and no HOA to fine me for having a locomotive showing above the fence-line... If only :(

You dont want any of the ones they have. The Galesburg ones were well junk. Maybe the SD 9's would be ok cause most of them were running when retired.I could live with it. You know with the abundance of shortlines you might be able to find a home for it. Or a museum near by.
