Well, here they all are together. Now I have to get them framed. From top to bottom are: DM&IR Yellowstone, SF 2926 4-8-4, Pennsy T-1, SP Cab Forward, UK Beyer-Garratt, N&W 611, N&W 1218. All are drawn scale to each other. Next up is the SP Freedom Train painted 4-8-4.

    Highly impressive!
Saw your stuff at the 2926 open house, even better in person.
    Thanks for having them there,
    Kevin

    I'm no-so-secretly hoping he'll get licensing covered to do a D&RGW L-132 class 2-8-8-2...
If that happens, I'll buy a 3600, a Denver & Salt Lake 2-6-6-0 would be neat, as would a monster Mountain, the largest boilers (96") ever installed on 4-8-2 running gear; boostered, 1600-class engines.
Whats the chances of an S-2 class Great Northern 4-8-4, or an R-2 class 2-8-8-2?
    NP Yellowstones or Challengers?

Well, there is finally some news on the liscensing front. I got an email from UP and it looks like I have been approved. I have to print off their form, make 2 copies of it, fill it in if I agree to the terms and send it in to them. She said they will immediatly issue a liscense to me to cover all the roads I requested (I requested all roads). They spelled the terms out in my initial application and unless things have changed I am sure they will be fine.

The GN stuff is already in the schedule, the 2-8-8-2 for sure. In addition to the steam I will be doing all these new SD70ACE's in the heritage schemes. First up will the be D&RGW and then the MOPAC. The rest to follow after those 2. I will be doing them in 3/4 view so I can put a loco behind it that will be in the last scheme for that line before the take over of that road. Should be a nice tribute to each line.

My Dad was going to the event anyway so he wanted to take some prints along to help out. They did sell a number of them. You really can't see all the details I put in drawings in these photos. They do look a lot better in person.

    Yippiee!

The ACe with a premerger loco behind would be neat...
For the D&RGW, a tunnel motor would be perfect--maybe 5371, the last survivor?
    I better save my shekels....

I'd be interested in several myself....

    SP American Freedom Train
    Pennsy T-1
    C&O M-1 Steam Turbine
    Rio Grande, steam and diesel
Maybe a Green Bay and Western? Specifically, Heavy 2-8-2 #406?
Have the original ALCo Builders photos of that one!

My first choice for the D&RGW was the tunnel motor. I think I have found the picture of the one I want. That is a good idea making it the last one they had in service. I will have to write that engine number down and will probably make it that one.

I just about have the Freedom Train sketched in. Should have it wrapped up by next week and then knock the Daylight out after it. The print I have of that T-1 is really nice, looks exactly like the original, even a little darker. I have done the M-1 but can no longer sell the prints. I do have the application for CSX and will be sending in shortly. If I get approval I will make it availble again and will be doing it in the side views as well. I have a couple of the big D&RGW steams slated to do in the next 6 months. I hadn't thought of the GB&W, I will have to take a look at a photo to see what it tooked like.

    She still exists!

The 5371 still runs on former-D&RGW rails, out of Helper, UT....:lightbulb:

I've got a few photos that were sent to me. As I was looking for GBW steam. I can send them to you if they'll help.
May not be the best though. But, I can also try taking a photo of the builders pic I have and see if that might be better.

Well, I just went over the forms Union Pacific sent me for licensing. It was generated specifically for me, most of it was a form letter but it had all the things in it I requested. They granted me full use of all the heralds I asked for, and more. The rules are simple and I can see no problems with this. The whole process was fairly easy and they were very helpful. It just takes a bit of time to process but what doesn't anymore? The nice part about it is they renew it automatically every year without having to go through it all over again.

I am pretty excited about this and projects I thought I would never get to do have now popped back up on the ole' radar. Hmmm....might have to get around to those big turbines, maybe even the "Big Blow". But, can't get too carried away and have to stay focused and get the "Heritage" units done first. Drool, drool. I have wanted to do those since I first saw them here locally.
