    Very neat! Thanks for sharing!

Brekke is a Milwaukee Road name. As I recall, a substation operator and family.

There was and still is an abandoned railroad grade across the former Hyak ski area slopes. It was the pre-Snoqualmie Tunnel "High Line" route between Rockdale and (old) Keechelus. I was on part of it once again last summer. It goes right through where the ski jump footings can still be found. A T-bar and one of the chairs at Hyak used to terminate on that r-o-w! Back when I was still healthy enough to ski...

I am in contact with someone who knew of the Brekke family as Milwaukee Road employees. Will see what they say.
