I haven't had much time to make update videos on this project, but I have been taking pictures. We just completed the project and started moving in this week. Here are some pictures of the space as of today:
Wow! I noticed those tackle boxes, what in the world could be in them????? It will be an awesome train room!!!!! Question, I noticed the A/C unit on the far wall (I'm assuming it's an A/C unit). Does it not require outside venting and/or drip line?
Those Plano tackle boxes are the best for N scale storage. I figure about half will be on the layout, half on display shelves and the rest can live in the tackle boxes, under the layout. I tried to keep them catergorized so I know what is where. My wife even has her own for her NS trains Yes, they require a condensate/drip line. The unit in the train room is on an exterior wall, so it was just a matter of running through the same hole for the refrigerant lines to the outside. The unit in the second room is on a dividing wall between the room and the storage area. For that one, I had to get a little creative running the line to the outside, while maintaining a slope down to make sure the water sheds away as it collects inside of the air handler.
@KE4NYV - I watched the videos - well done. The photos of the finished space look great too - though another video would also be cool. And help us out - which Plano boxes are those?
I forgot to mention a wrap-up video is coming to show off the space. Also, I hope to have some videos as I build the layout and show progress. Plano tackle box: https://www.amazon.com/Plano-758-4-...=1497643965&sr=1-11&keywords=plano+tackle+box
