Oldrk, thanks for those links. The 765 did a great job of impersonating a C&O Kanawah but I like her looks as a Berk much better. The only time I have ridden behind her was in 1993 on the second weekend of the New River train, as 2765, from Huntington, WVa to Hinton and return. Looks like these runs were warmups, as I counted 22 to 24 pax cars on those passes, and spotted the Dover Harbor on the tail end in the last run, first link. The New River train had 32 or 33 pax cars. Man, those Berks can pull. My wife and I rode in the Dover Harbor, great experience. And I hear that hooter whistle as well as her regular one, which just gave me chills hearing it blow as we punched through the forest in the dark on the way back to Huntington. I was standing next to the engine shooting pictures in Hinton when an old railroader came up and said "they was good engines, damn good engines." I agree. :tb-biggrin: Wo, I just notice the NYCS diesel on the back end. What do you know about that cab unit?
