Proudly present a new loco in my line-up: EMD SD7, shown here in CB&Q colours. This loco is custom build for a customer I haven't served very well in the recent past: myself... Extreme kitbash on basis of MTL's SD40-2 (chassis) and GP9 (shell) with lots of extra parts e.g. etched stainless steel details, casted parts and styrene bits and pieces: - SD40-2 chassis shorten on both ends - shell made from 2 GP9 shells - stainless steel etched sides, railings and sill (own design) - stainless steel fans (own design) - winterization hatch (casted) - cooling loopes (wire) - rear louvers (casted) - front and rear of shell detailed (classification lights, ladders and lights) - new tank and air tanks - modified truck frames - "standard" detailing - other roof details incl. new horns - detailed front and rear pilots - custom decals, paintjob and light weathering Also SD9s will follow in the coming months. The SD9 has only minor differences to the SD7, so it's no big deal. BTW: This would not be the first SD9; David Freehling started a SD9 years ago when the GP9 was released, but I don't know if he ever finished that project. Enjoy:
Gerd, This is awsome. I have an SW1 in this color scheme, my scratched out of box SD70 is ready for this, dont throw away the rest of the decals He will get big sister....
SD 70 in Blackbird scheme??? No such animal, but it is your railroad...:mwacko: Gerd again good job, it is exactly the engine type, color, and time period for my railroad, again I wish I had 6 of them.
Definately an excellent bit of work there Gerd,I thought it was N scale for a second. The more I look at Z scale, the more it appeals to me lolz. Btw,speaking of N scale, are you heading up for the N scale convention in Liverpool NSW in May?
