Key Holidays has put together two exciting travel packages that take passengers from Southern California via Amtrak to one of the nation's most popular destinations. Vacation packages include roundtrip train fare and two night's stay in a Las Vegas hotel.

Party all the way to Vegas on the "Las Vegas Fun Train," which features a dance car with a live band and instructors who can give you pointers on some of your favorite Las Vegas table games. The Fun Train will depart Los Angeles on Friday May 3 at 2 p.m. and stop in Fullerton and Riverside to pick up additional passengers before arriving in Las Vegas at about 9:15 p.m. The train returns on May 5.

For a relaxing ride, the "Las Vegas Special" features strolling minstrels, sing-alongs in the piano lounge car and a historical narration. On Tuesday, May 7, the Las Vegas Special departs from Los Angeles at 8 a.m. and picks up passengers in Fullerton and Riverside before arriving in Las Vegas about 3:30 p.m. The train returns on May 9.

Both trains offer single-level Horizon coach cars with reclining seats, a full-length Great Dome with a lower-level cafe/bar, a piano lounge car, souvenir shop, and a smoking car.

Travelers have the option of selecting a hotel in Downtown Las Vegas or on the Las Vegas Strip. Hotels located in the destination's historic Downtown include: The Plaza, Main Street Station and the Golden Nugget. Choices on the Strip are The Venetian, Treasure Island, Sahara, Stratosphere, Stardust and Imperial Palace.

Prices start at $249 per person, double occupancy for the weekend Fun Train and $195 for the midweek Las Vegas Special. Group discounts are available.

Price includes: roundtrip train fare; two-night hotel accommodations; transfers from the depot to hotels (except downtown hotels which are located within one block of the Las Vegas station); discount entertainment coupons; lunch on the return trip and all taxes.

For more information and reservations about the weekend Las Vegas Fun Train or the midweek Las Vegas Special, see your travel agent or call Key Holidays at 1-800-783-0783. The April trips didn't fly due to lack of response. Lets hope they advertise more on other avenues rather than just here.

I couldn't agree more and believe that this is also one of Amtrak's problems - advertising. What ever happened to those cool "All Aboard Amtrak" commercials of yesteryear?

This is a Key Holiday train not an Amtrak train. Therefore it's Key Holidays resposibility to advertise it. Has anyone seen any ads in any type of media? Is it just word of mouth? Hopefully not just thru railfans.
