Will there be a token of N-scale Love for you guys from your sweetie? I ordered Roses for my wife to be sent to her office. So if she forgets to go to the train store that is only about three blocks away from there, I will be allowed to spend some money at the Calgary Train Show this weekend. If she remebers or she forgets, either way I win.!!! I sent red roses, CP red!!! BUSTER
Quite honestly, I find valentines day depressing. Simply put, once again, this year I'm alone. How about running over to Vancouver, picking up a friend of mine and send her down here to NC?
I usaully buy my wife a dozen roses but this year i gave her a potential of a hundred roses I bought her a rose bush and told her everytime it flowers it reflects my love for her Now if that isn't worth a couple of locomotives then nothing will work lol [ 14 February 2002, 21:35: Message edited by: Colonel ]
I worked at the hobby shop today, and I was suprized at how many wifes and girlfreinds came in to buy their sweeties model railroad and hobby stuff. One elderly couple came in and the wife bought her hubby an HO scale Bachman 2 truck Shay, four of their $30 log cars and the matching bobber caboose. Quite a chunk of change for Valentine's day. As for me. I bought the little woman a carnation bouquet, a balloon bouquet (Personally delivered to her office early this morning), and dinner this evening at Longhorn Steakhouse. She offered to pay for the extra MRC Prodigy handheld controller that I ordered last week. Ain't love grand!
WOW!! I am one happy little fellow!! Just when I thought she does not pay attention to my rambling, about what I need or want to add to my collection. She goes out and gets me two Micro-trains cars. A Hershey's, 2 bay ACF Center Flow Covered Hopper and a Pepsi Cola, 36 foot Sheathed Ice Reefer. What a Great Woman!!!
My wife is a sucker for those M-T Hershey and Pepsi cars, also. I now have a full colleciton of both! M-T, keep on putting out those Hershey and Pepsi cars! Bob
Well, that's okay for some people but I went all out. I gave my girlfriend a large pizza. That worked out good because my girlfriend can not eat a large pizza so I was standing by to finish off the last 3/4 of it. If you've never had a pizza at Downeast Pizza in Calais, Maine, then you've never had pizza. It would be worth crawling through several hundred miles on your hands and knees through broken glass to get one. Come to think of it, I'll have another tonight. It's Valentines Day all over again! Charlie
Well Valentines day is past ,but tonight (Friday) is when I'm taking my better half of 36 years out to celebrate it.It is a double celebration though because her B-day was the 11th.
Slight Bummer holiday for me, too Ridgerunner. Don't even have a gal in another state. Plus, it's my Mom's b-day, and her little sisters. And I ain't got no money! Made my last (balloned ) car payment, and had to get a fuel problem fixed. Did get a raise from some study at work! Soooo.... Got extra money coming to make up for it! But still no woman...
For me, Feb 14th is not only Valentines Day, but my Wedding Anniversary and, as a result, I must get her a gift for each occasion. It does get a tad difficult at times but, somehow I manage to pull through with yet another surprise. This year I had a dozen red roses delivered with instructions as where to find her wrapped present(s). She obviously liked the 4 Waterford Crystal Wine Glasses, as well as the roses, because she came to the store while I was out on business and bought me a Bachmann Consolodation, Swore Tony to secrecy and presented it to me (along with a bottle of fine Rye) during Supper. We allways have supper at home on the 14th of Feb and go out to the keg for steak on the 15th, when the resturant scene isn't so crazy. It is great to have a wife who, even though she does not participate in the hobby, at least supports it. My thoughts are with all of you who have had to spend another Valentines Day alone, as I too have often been in that same boat and it does tend to get you down, however, your time will come and, when you least expect it you will be Hooked, Played and Landed (You will meet that special person, date , get engaged and married) and, with any luck, you will not be put on ice or fried. Happy modeling. Cheers. Terry
Valentine's Day is my wfe's birthday too. I'm still paying off her Christmas present! She received two dozen of the deepest redest Carnations I've ever seen, a box of coconut clusters (oh man.....heaven........come from the Rocky Mountain Candy factory on Chambers St. not far from Ground Zero!), a couple of HUGE chocolate covered strawberries, a wonderfuly made home cooked meal made by JT himself, and we are going out for an expensive (yikes!) night out on the town with dinner and......just dinner!!!!!!!!! I gotta pay for all of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL! I got a great book on 9/11. No trains this year........... About that Maine pizza...........there's nothing like New York pizza. Wish I could challenge that and see who is best!
