"Also see this neat webpage on modeling a Utah Rwy GP38 in N scale http://members.firstinter.net/bbanna/MR_Utah_GP38_2006.htm Actually, it is a deturboed GP35 with a 645 power assembly but the modeling is really nice. I kept Don's original email just so I can visit the site and gain ideas, as well as check out any updating he does... the GP35ms are super looking units worthy of being modeled!!! (The best was the one done for Tex-Mex from a Frisco Torpedo tubed unit, but unfortunately this unit was not successful on that line... if I build one ~ and I yet hope too ~ mine will have ALCO trucks!!!)
Here's another possible source for what you are looking for... the Utah Railroading List at Yahoo Groups. The List appears to have a well stocked file section and appears to be fairly active... you might want to check it out: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/utah_railroading/
Lotsa good data. I've got an RSD4 needing a paint job, and would like to do it in Utah Ry. colors (as it appeared in use, not the scheme used on today's EMDs). Where would I find N scale decals for Utah Alcos?
Try going to utahrails.net this has much info on the Utah Railway as well as links to other sites. Also do a google search. Atlas put out an RSD 4/5 in the Utah color Scheme. Microscale has decals for them as well.
We want one in Normal scale not Horribly Oversized I think they are waiting for me to get my 4 custom painted so they can release the RTR units. Spoke to a Atlas rep. back in Jan.'06 and he 'assured' me that Atlas would run this scheme in N. Hope we all live that long!!! 2slim
Saorry but this is the number for the N scale decals for Utah Railway SD-40's produced by Microscale 60-668
Hi! Here's a source for N Scale... http://www.emperortrains.com/rr/utah.html They are showing an SD40 and GP35 as available, but he can do what ever you want.
