    OK Chaps! Daft question time.
What big USA steam locomotives are available in G scale?
I know that USA Trains did/do the UP Big-Boy, but on a pension, and in the UK, that's way out of my league, price wise, unless someone there wants to take pity on us poor benighted souls across the pond, and send me one as a present.
I also understand that RailKing did a G scale Big Boy, but this is out of production, and as rare as hens teeth. I think that MTH do a 4-6-6-4 Challanger, and I know that the Aristocraft 2-8-8-2 is available still here and there, although I think that this is out of production as well.
I'm not after any particular railroad or theme, would just like the spectacular size of one of these beasts in the UK.
    Is anything else available?
Out of what IS available, any advice as to which locomotive to go for? (I quite like the Aristo, but it seems to be a little 'generic 2-8-8-2' and not a model of any specific locomotive?)
I realise that any statement I have made above might be wrong, everything I have gleaned here is basically from trawling the internet.

All physically possible suggestions and comments welcome.

    Alec.

MTH, USA, Aristo, and LGB made the 2-6-6-2 in both Uintah and Sumpter.
Botch made the 2-6-6-2 tank loco, but it's a Meyer. Nice looking, tho.

Bachmann makes a 2-6-6-2 tank engine......maybe not quite as big as you were hoping for, but you can pick them up off ebay for $400-450 all day. And if it matters, there's actually one of these still running on the 1880's railroad in the black hills near Mt. Rushmore. I have one of these, and am very happy with it......I bought it after riding behind the real one a couple of summers ago.
