Well, the UP line was vacant, which is unusual, but a pair of Beansniff 'Deuces soldiers on to Denver with a short train of concrete tie cars and ballast hoppers....

And before anyone asks, yes, I did sit in my car, at that intersection, and wait with camera in-hand, for that train. A split-second before I fired the shutter, a car turned in front of me....

    Hemi:

Count the time you had to take those pictures as blessed as now with little ones you will have less and less time.

I'm already realizing that.... I'm looking forward to when I can take Glen out for a little railfan trip, but that won't be at least 9-12 months from now...

Don't you just hate that?

I had a similar occurrence when I spotted my first CR B40-8 on the NS; I waited for it patiently as it came by with its train, only to have someone stop right in front of me as I was was about to get a great roster shot.

Ouch! Mine had a happy ending, since the car was not in the shot, but it was close. Too close.

Hemi, My boy liked railfanning at 6mo. Now he gets excited when he hears a Train horn!(18mo.) :)

My first child (a daughter!) was totally captivated by Thomas the Tank Engine... unfortunately her love for trains died off, in spite of all of my attempts to keep her interested [IMG]

The railfan trip I am talking about, is to the mountains....

I have taken Glen to the UP 4-track main and yards a few times in his 9 day life so far...
