    FYI from the Kato Web Site;

    At the 2002 National Train Show in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Kato USA announced that there would be a future production of N SD70MAC locomotives. Roadnames will include BNSF (two schemes), CSX, and Conrail. Undecorated models will also be available.

    At this time, road numbers, stock numbers, model specifications, price, and delivery date are To Be Announced, however delivery is expected sometime in 2002. Please check this page for updates.

    The version selected has headlights located on the cab (above windshield), Isolated Cab, and HTCR Phase 2 trucks. (HTCR Phase 2 trucks are different from HTCR II trucks as found on SD80MAC and SD90MAC locomotives).

    Selecting the Phase 2 truck, instead of Phase 1, allows us to produce the BNSF Heritage II scheme AND the Green and Cream scheme. The truck version we have selected would not be correct for locomotives lettered Burlington Northern. If we had selected the Phase I truck, then BNSF Heritage II, CSX, and Conrail would not be possible.

    The SD70MAC is also owned by the Alaska Railroad and TFM, however the headlight location is different from the model version we will produce.

    Sorry, Chesapeakenscaler, but that couldn't possibly constitute an offical announcement from Kato....you didn't even include a URL, for Pete's Sake!!!. Of course, since you don't have a notary stamp and an official letter from the president of Kato, it's not considered an offical announcement either. Might I suggest that you take a poll from 10,000 modelers to see if they actually believe that Kato is telling the truth. Then you might have some level of credibility.

    (Sorry, I'm sure that some of you can detect the sarcasm and appreciate the humor. For those that do not, I apologize) ;)

    Don't feel bad Doug, I had two nasty personal emails taking me to task for my sense of humor. And both of them from long-gone former members! :D

    Ya broke me up, big guy! LOL!
