Just thought I'd post an update on my new experience into DCC. I've overcome all my previous issues with the system startup.

I have found out positively that running 2 trains simultaneously is pretty much my skill limit right now. I have run 3 at once but that recuires diligent attention to everything that's going on. No time to watch the trains run by and what fun is that?

I am really glad that when I built this layout I did my best to make the change to DCC easy from the wiring point of view.

I have found a couple spots around switches that needed some improvement, done.

As far as the NCE PowerCab is concerned, I love it. Easy to learn, simple to operate. I was kind of surprised, since I didn't study and compare decoder models and manuals, that differnt makes require different CV values be altered for speed matching and light functions. Just part of the learning curve.

From the point of decoder installation, I have gradusted past drop in decoders, that's not a completely true statement from the manufacturers statement, IMHO, and I've done a "split board" TCS decoder in a Kato C30-7. It took a little while but had no problems. I've got three more CN style TCS "in stock" to complete then I'm gonna' try a couple custom installations.

    So far I've done - 3 Mp-15's, 3 B40-8's, 2 SD-40T2's, and 1 SD-50, and the C30-7.

I've taken a couple days off decoder installs and concentrated on enjoying the operations.
