Recently in Fort Worth, TX I've saw a lash up with what looked like several U-boats or maybe C30-7s (I'm not very familiar with the spotting features on older GEs). One of the units was still in SP colors. I've seen these more than once and was wondering if they're local power or if they were just in the neighborhood for a few weeks. Also, is there a way to find out the local schedule and a list of locomotives in the area. John Bursi
It seems that Texas is the home for most of the older GE units. I would say none are U-boats but -7s instead. You'll probably see mainly the B23-7s, B30-7s incl ex SP as well as C30 and C36-7s if any of the six axle are still around.
