There are a bunch of them around the shops.

 

Doesn't that loco cost like a million dollars each these day's? That's alot of cash for a loco they fire up every six months, and just sits there!!!

 

710ECO rebuild, 3000hp i think, 500 planned rebuilds iirc

 

I didn't think these were ECO rebuilds... just a standard 1033...

 

I thought we talked about this rebuild program already?

These are absolutely not ECO rebuilds. 500 SD40-2s (doesn't look like Any T-2s) 1033 part and rebuild over 10 years I think.

Many of these units were out of service/retired units as well.

 

I wonder if any of the old SD40/45T-2's are going to be rebuilt?

 

As I said, no, no Tunnel motors.

Earlier today I saw a loooooooooong deadline of UP painted tunnel motors at the Burnham shop yard in Denver. I will try to see if I can remember to actually bring a camera along next time

 

Those SD40-2s look good (are they dash 3 now, do they have an EM2000 or Qtron?)
No flag though.

 

Those are the ones recently sold at UP auction on the 14th, you'll be lucky to get some pictures, they're supposed to be departing to their new owners any day now. Sadly, most to the scrapper.
