From the AP wire, this report, partially in an effort to correct problems UP has been having in the San Antonio area: http://www.telegram.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20041119/APF/411190898
Very interesting I wonder what changes the new Superintendant will do to turn around the safety problem. I think UP will pour extra $$$$ into training staff and making operational improvements.
The story notes: "As for why Davidson was replaced, Bromley said only: "We felt Shane was the right guy to handle that service unit at this time." " I've a feeling it's a move to try and preclude further loss of money due to legal action. (Being sued.) They'll need to put money into this project. But how much will Omaha allow to be spent? Given that limitation, the new guy may have his hands somewhat tied. They don't dare cut into what the brass in Omaha earns, nor into the amount expected by greedy shareholders. Boxcab E50
