American Greetings / Carllton Cards is offering an old time (1880 era) 0-6-0 with slopeback tender and pre-Harriman waycar (caboose) along with a UP Overland Route herald. The loco and caboose are around Z scale size although it is hard to tell with such early equipment; they might be a little undersize. The locomotive closely resembles a Porter Mogul without the lead truck. Item Number 417125 with a MSRP of 13.00 and an indicated sale price of 9.75. It would be funny if the LA4 were similar in size to Hallmark's PA. By the way, the rest of the Hallmark Ornaments should be available at Gold Crown stores today. I may have time to see if the North Pole Central is similar to the B6. To my eye, they almost look like narrow guage next to the Hallmark cars.
I've seen the LA4 in person when they first came out in July. Wife was grumpy so I did not get one at the time. I think it's a little big for Z but did not get to measure. I'm getting one regardless. I did pick up the Hallmark North Pole Central this weekend. I will try to measure it tonight. I think everything is on the small size for Z except possibly the boxcar and perhaps the tender. Loco is definitely small (weird Lionel wheel arrangement anyway). Don't think they are all the same scale pieces either. Randy
