Eddie, AZL has announced plans to release wood side reefers later this year. The will be released in conjunction with the Challenger. Rob
found a very old picture in my collection...it was taken out of a biplane aircraft, flown by Lt. George R.
Cool pictures Hans. Thanks for sharing! If somebody want to see the Challenger in Action then just visit my website zscalegallery.com
I kept looking at this picture, and I cant say it is a model , the details in the background are unbelievable. I spent a long time looking at it... the only give away is a new UP clean and no smoke. Awesome modeling skills and great picture... Kim
The new Nansen Street Models roundhouse may be too small for these beasts? I'm curious if an Atlas or Walthers RH & TT could be modified for the Big Boy, Cab Forward, etc.

Kim, I so have to agree with you. I keep going back to the photo. It is beautiful! The scene is just excellent! What a great family AZL has. There is some true pedigree there! Rob
I'd still like to know how many cars this loco will pull. I've asked the question before, but no answer comes forth. If it doesn't pull, then it is just a pretty model. Loren
Loren, we diden't try to run the prototype with cars, all I can say is that the Engine has traction tyres and I think this is enough to pull a bunch of cars.
Loren, Hans sent the Challenger to me yesterday. I should have it by the end of the week. I'll do some pulling tests and let you know. I'm actually quite optimistic - mainly because of the traction tire. We looked at powering all of the wheels, but production wise, it became a very expensive concept. We have fallen back to the next best thing: traction tires and *lots* of electrical pick-ups on the tender as well as the drivers. Best, -Rob(A)
