The Bandit UP 9999, is on it's way to West Colton. It is scheduled to arrive tonight! We don't know where it will go from there, but I hope it comes here to the harbor. This is the last remaining GP40X in SP paint (The rest all have been retired).

Can some one please fill me in on the number change or are there two 9999's? I remember seeing a C44 or AC44 that had the number 9999, it was in UP of coarse. I have seen 9999 which is a C44-9W, but when looking at UP's master roster the only unit that has/will have this number is the SP GP40X. I can't figure it out?
All the C44s have been renumbered, 9999 is now 6702. ------------------ Corey Lynch Pres - Rensselaer Model RR Society, NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W

The newet UP Roster (rev. 78,024) is as follows: C44-9Ws are to be UP 9564-9834, some are still in CNW and SP paint and numbers. AC4400CWs are to be UP 5700-7009 and 7080-7297. Some are new (UP 5700-6147) and some are still painted and numbered for CNW and SP. The first 3 AC4400CWs that UP received in 1994 were UP 9997-9999, these have all been renumbered to UP 6700-6702. UP's GP40Xs are to be UP 9994-9999, so far only the last remaining former SP GP40X is confirmed to be in this series at this time, it is still in SP Paint, but has been patched as UP 9999.
