I know that many modelers have creative juices that are expressed often in mini scenes on their layouts. I would like to see what some of you have. Post a picture. I'll start with a scene that I am still developing for an industry where I can use the Intermountain "glowing" hoppers and, maybe, the AEC special run cars from Burbank's House of Hobbies. I'm not sure if this will be a uranium mine, a toxic waste processing plant or what; but the idea is forming.... Perhaps you can suggest something that I can use. Right now I am calling it, "Toxic Siding." I used Woodland Scenics beekeepers for my workers in hazmat gear.
Unusual...? The owner of the feed store likes his horses close.... like right across the road, by the grain elevators..... Another water main has burst at the Domtar mill..... Hockey games and vintage rock.... at "da gardens".... Opps.....we "bent" a hopper... think anyone will notice.....?
I've got the linear accelerator, which produces those glowing materials--which are not uranium or plutonium:tb-biggrin:. About the only radioactive thing that really glows is water, due to the Cherenkov phenomenon:tb-biggrin:. This was actually just a solution :tb-biggrin: for a spot where two of my three decks were colliding.
I've also got the plutonium research reactor. There are small scenes within, and subtle touches like dead trees, that I haven't gotten around to photographing.
Law enforcement has arrived - maybe they are waiting for the new donut shop to open. My daughter is a real life police officer and this is for her. Jim
If I ever get around to the stage I can incorperate a special scene, I had the idea of putting a fake Halloween spider off in a hidden corner with a bit of web spun between maybe 2 trees and a pair of n scale figures caught and mummified in the web with nothing but their heads showing.
I can't remember where I saw it but it really cracked me up. Someone had a public water works garage with a chain link fence and gates on one side. Along the inside of the fence was a line of uninstalled fire hydrants stacked against each other. Outside the fence on a sidewalk along the street was a pack of dogs fanned out looking through the fence.
