I just realized that the UP will turn 150 in 2012. Does anyone know if they have started plans to observe their sesquicentennial? Will there be a special 150th anniversary locomotive (or locomotives...maybe 1862 and 2012 most likely)? Will locos have a 150th anniversary patch? Will there be special railfan events (i.e. The expected 844 and 3985 excursions, etc)? It's still two years away but I'm sure the groundwork is being done right now.
They've done a good job ending other railroads, why not take the earth this time? :tb-tongue: For real though, I'm sure they have something up their sleeve. And I'm sure it will be really cool. Mike
